Islamic-Iranian shrines (Imamzadeh) have a peculiar design and are believed to be built on the relics of an Imam (holy religious figures) and are a reminiscence for the people to have a moment of solitude, to say prayers and ask for guidance.

Inspired by the aesthetics and architecture of these spaces, To the Goddess of Belonging is the artist’s effort to create a shrine for those who seem out of place, those lost in translation and language, those who are alien, and those who are detached. This shrine is a homage to immigrants who don’t feel at home. Here you can reground yourself, listen, rest, and pray to the goddess of belonging, to be oriented once again.
